Son of George & Fanny Simmonds, of 72 Chapel Street, Bicester (later 12 Creaton, Northampton). Brother of Ralph. A bricklayer.

"We recently published a report that Rifleman Tom H. Simmonds, K.R.R.C., son of Mr and Mrs C. Simmonds, of 72, Chapel-street, was missing, and this information has, we regret, now been followed and confirmed by the report of his death, which is stated to have taken place on April 23rd. He joined the King’s Royal Rifles at the time of their stay at Bicester while undergoing a rifle course in the town. A remarkable feature of the incident is that he was reported missing on the same date as was also his brother, Ralph, serving with the Salonica Forces. Rfn. Simmonds was 27 years of age."
