"Lance-Corporal Frank Austin, of Launton, is reported missing. He is a member of the Wiltshire Regiment." Bicester Advertiser 22/06/1917

"In loving memory of my devoted husband, Lance-Corporal Frank Austin, who was killed in action in France, on June 5th, 1917.
There's no one knows a husband's worth
Until at last he's gone;
There's not a friend in all the earth
With love so true and strong.
Years may pass dear husband,
But your face will never fade,
For we love you still so dearly
Though you're silent in the grave.
Anchored by love death cannot sever,
We sadly miss him and will for ever;
Some day, some time, our eyes shall see
Your dear face we hold in memory.

From his sorrowing Wife and Child.
Do not ask us if we miss him,
There is such a vacant place;
We shall never forget his footsteps,
Or his happy smiling face.
The blow was hard, the shock severe,
To part with dear Frank we loved so dear.
We cannot Lord Thy purpose see,
But all is well that's done by Thee.
Unseen by the world, he stands by my side,
And whispers "Dear mother, death cannot divide."

From his devoted Mother, Brother and Sisters." Bicester Advertiser 07/06/1918
