Schools & Education
This is a new section of the website which will focus on the history of schools and methods of education and schooling in and around Bicester.
We would welcome peoples memories of their schooling in the area - the Grammar School, Crockwell School, St Edburg's School, etc.
Bicester County School (click on link for more details) opened in in September 1924 in what was Bicester Hall. The building was situated on the corner of the junction of Launton Road and London Road. The property is currently known as Hometree House and has been redeveloped as a retirement housing complex.
We do have what is almost a complete set of The Bicestrian - the grammar school's in-house magazine. However, we are missing the following years - can you help?
Missing volumes: 1932, 1940, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1956, 1958.
